# Training & workshops

We teach what we practise: cloud, AI and automation, web technologies, product and UX. For technical and non-technical teams, tailored to a specific project and company, not taken from a catalogue.

## Who this is for

### Technical teams

Developers, administrators and DevOps teams taking over a new platform, moving to the cloud or bringing AI into daily work with control over the result.

### Non-technical teams

Marketing, operations, customer service and management: how the things you use actually work, what can be automated, what to require from suppliers and how to talk to your own IT.

### Startups and product teams

Teams that have to decide quickly about a product, a process or a direction and want to test the decision before investing months of work.

## Formats

### Training or workshop

From half a day to several days, on your examples and, where possible, in your environment. Theory only as much as needed, the rest is work on a concrete task.

### Design Sprint

The Google Ventures method as a tool for any problem. 5 days: a full sprint for startups and complex topics, from understanding the challenge to a prototype tested with users. 2 hours: a condensed session for company teams, a shared picture of the problem and a decision on what to do next.

### Mentoring and team support

Regular sessions with the team or its lead: reviewing decisions, architecture and plans, answering the questions that only come up during the work. A monthly scope agreed after the first meeting.

## Topics

- Cloud and infrastructure: Google Cloud, Firebase, Kubernetes, Linux, CI/CD, costs, security, static publishing.
- AI and automation: AI workflows, integrations, no-code tools and custom code, data rules and control over the result.
- Web technologies and developer experience: websites, applications, CMS, performance, accessibility.
- Product and UX: needs analysis, wireframes and prototypes, first-release scope, user testing.
- Edge computing and hardware: devices, sensors, distributed systems.
- Digital compliance: licences, consent, GDPR and AI-generated content in a team’s daily practice.

## Where this comes from

It started in the audience. In 2002 Jakub went to a Linux User Group meetup in Warsaw and walked out with his first Slackware live CD. In 2011 he co-founded Google Technology User Group Warsaw, today Google Developer Group Warsaw, one of the most active developer communities in the world. We still help run it and back it with organisation, funding and promotion. More about the [founders](https://kol.ski/en/founders) and under [community](https://kol.ski/#community) on the home page.

- Around 250 events organised: DevFest, Google I/O Extended, Arduino Day, workshops, hackathons, livestreams, mentoring programmes.
- Around 150 events supported as speakers, mentors or co-organisers, in Poland and abroad: the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Czechia, Italy.
- More than 20 years in technology communities, the largest initiatives run with a team of more than 30 co-organisers.
- Teach-the-teachers programmes: we also teach those who teach others.

## How it works

### 1. A conversation about the need

30 minutes online, free. Who should learn what, why, and what should change in the team’s work after the training. We tell you which format makes sense.

### 2. A programme on your examples

Agenda, exercises and materials prepared for your project and environment. Fixed scope and a fixed price agreed before we start.

### 3. The workshop and what follows

The training or sprint, materials for the team and a short summary with recommendations. Optionally mentoring or support in implementing what you decided.

## FAQ

### Online or on site?

Both. Technical workshops and the Design Sprint work best on site; shorter training and mentoring work just as well online.

### What group size?

Workshops: up to around 12 people, so everyone works. Overview training for larger groups; Design Sprint: 5 to 7 decision-makers.

### Do you work in our environment and on our data?

Yes, if we agree so. Before we start we sign a non-disclosure agreement and define what is used in the sessions. Alternatively we prepare a practice environment.

### Do you issue certificates?

Confirmation of participation, yes. We do not run training for vendor exams, but we help prepare for them as part of mentoring.

### How do you charge?

The conversation about the need: free. Training, workshop or sprint: a fixed price agreed before we start. Mentoring: a monthly scope.

### Do you also train in English?

Yes. Materials and sessions in Polish or English, also for mixed teams.

## Tell us what your team should learn

Tell us who should learn, what, and what should change after the training. We will propose a format and a time.
